On this page we will be adding campgrounds that we have stayed at and our opinions of these campgrounds. These will be our opinions only based on our personal experiences in these campgrounds. Keep checking back as these will be added regularly as we build our website.
1. Glacier National Park, West Glacier, Montana
Of course this is our first review because this is where it all started for us. We stayed in Apgar campground our first time there. It was a fantastic campground located right across the road from Lake McDonald.
Apgar campground is the largest campground in Glacier National Park. It is near Apgar Village, where you will find the Apgar visitor center, gift shops, a camp store, and a casual restaurant. Horseback ride reservations, boat rentals, a shuttle service, and Red Bus tour reservations are also located in Apgar Village.
The campground itself is situated in trees and provides tent and RV campers with shade and some privacy. Potable water is accessible in the campground, and restroom facilities provide flush toilets and sinks with running water. Evening sunsets on Lake McDonald are only a short stroll from the campground.
We would definitely recommend anyone that wants to see a national park to go to Glacier National Park. In our opinion this is the best National Park we have been to, others are great too but this one is the best.
2. Rock Crusher Canyon RV Park, Crystal River Florida
We stayed here for the winter shortly after we went fulltiming. The park was really nice, big private sites and lots of amenities for the campers. Big swimming pool, workout room and great big clubhouse. There was also a big amphitheater that had live shows on the weekends with name brand entertainers that you could go to. The park was pretty crowded but the sites were big enough that you did not feel crowded. Since the time we were there the park has changed hands and is run by a company that has several campgrounds, a chain of campgrounds. So we can not say if it is any better or worse than when we were there. We were there this past summer just to look around and the park was not near as nice as when we stayed there and also the amphitheater was no longer a part of the park and was not even open when we visited it. When we say not as nice, what we saw were lots of areas that were not mowed and weeds in areas that used to be kept clean. We enjoyed it when we were there and would probably try it again based on that.
